TCF Relationship Lending Unit Announces New Hires

Five new leaders join TCF Bank’s Consumer Lending and Relationship Lending Unit to help grow its mortgage business.

WAYZATA, Minn. (June 28, 2018) TCF Relationship Lending Unit (RLU), a division of TCF National Bank which is a subsidiary of TCF Financial Corporation (TCF) (NYSE: TCF), today announced that it added new leaders to its team. The five new hires will help grow the company’s mortgage business.

New additions to the team include:

  • Mike Petersen – director, secondary marketing and capital markets, TCF Consumer Lending
  • Mark Zierott – director, relationship lending sales, TCF Relationship Lending Unit
  • Dee Dee Emmert – business development manager, TCF Relationship Lending Unit
  • Bob Brenseke – business development manager, TCF Relationship Lending Unit
  • Rick Mangone – business development manager, TCF Relationship Lending Unit

“A strong performing mortgage business is key to our consumer banking growth,” said Michael S. Jones, executive vice president, consumer banking. “Earlier this month, we announced three strategic hires in our TCF Home Loan business, and this week I’m pleased to announce one new hire in consumer lending, and four new hires in our relationship lending business to increase sales in our second mortgage and HELOC products. Our renewed focus on having the right people in the right roles will help continue to grow our mortgage business.”

Mike Petersen joins consumer lending to lead secondary marketing and capital markets where he is responsible for the strategic leadership and secondary marketing of TCF Home Loans and RLU. He has more than 20 years of experience leading mortgage capital markets and secondary marketing at HomeStreet Bank, Rich Passage Advisors, Secondary Capital Advisors and Stratus Asset Management Group, among others. Petersen works from TCF’s office in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Mark Zierott brings more than 30 years of experience in his new role as director of relationship lending sales. He directs the RLU sales team with more than 1,000 customer relationships across 43 states. Previously, Zierott worked in sales leadership positions at Amtrust, Bank of America, MB Financial Bank and National City Home Equity, among others. He works from TCF’s office in Plymouth, Minnesota.

RLU also adds three business development managers with more than 60 years of total experience who are responsible for growing mortgage banker and broker relationships in regions throughout the United States.

  • Dee Dee Emmert oversees sales in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. She joins from
    MB Financial Bank and previously worked at JPMorgan Chase, PNC Mortgage and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, among others. She offices from Plainfield, Illinois.
     
  • Bob Brenseke will coordinate with our existing California business development managers to serve customers in California. Most recently, he worked in sales at loanDepot and also held sales roles at Banc of California, CMG Mortgage, Florida Capital Bank, National City Home Equity and US Bank, to name a few. He works from Beverly Hills, California.
     
  • Rick Mangone leads sales in Washington. He joins from Freedom Mortgage and previously worked in sales at CitiMortgage, MB Financial Bank, TILA Mortgage and Sunbelt Mortgage, among others. He works from Bellevue, Washington.
