TCF Bank Raises $40,000 for Can Do Canines in Minnesota

TCF Bank Customers and Team Members Donated Nearly $300,000 in Five Years to Support Animal Welfare

WAYZATA, Minn. and NEW HOPE, Minn.

TCF National Bank (TCF Bank), a subsidiary of TCF Financial Corporation (TCF) (NYSE: TCB), today announced that TCF Bank customers and team members raised nearly $40,000 to support Can Do Canines in Minnesota. Donations were accepted at all TCF Bank branches in Minnesota. During the past five years, TCF Bank customers and team members donated nearly $300,000 to animal welfare organizations.

“For five years, we have supported animal welfare organizations and it has been an honor to support Can Do Canines for the first time this year,” said Kent Engler, director of retail banking at TCF Bank. “Through the time and donations invested by both customers and team members, we are enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities by partnering them with specially trained dogs.”

“We’re excited to partner with TCF Bank, their team members and their customers to support our mission of providing assistance dogs to people with disabilities at no charge,” said Alan Peters, executive director at Can Do Canines. “The $40,000 raised in 2017 helped to provide assistance dogs to 42 people with disabilities and children with autism. We are very grateful.”

TCF Bank is committed to building better communities. During the past five years, TCF Bank raised nearly $600,000 for Can Do Canines and other animal welfare organizations, Make-A-Wish Minnesota and Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund. TCF Bank also supports high schools and students with free financial education courses in nearly 100 high schools, including Minneapolis Public Schools, to help students make smarter financial decisions.
